What we are
doing to
lighten our
carbon footprints

Calculating carbon footprints at the Feast Market in July

Thanks to the Centre for Alternative Technology for use of their carbon calculator, and to Cambridge Carbon Footprint for getting us going with our stall.

A carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases emitted over the full life cycle of a product or service. Our personal carbon footprint is the amount of carbon emitted in the products and services we use.

If everyone on the planet had a carbon footprint the size of the average British person, we would need three planets.

How can we reduce our carbon footprint?  A good start is to measure it.  HICCA’s Carbon Footprint stall offers people the opportunity to do just that, and provides information on ways to cut down.
